We’re delighted that Richard Howarth is continuing as our Music Director this season. Richard nicely balances hard work and an insistence on constant improvement, with a sense of fun and joyful exploration of the music.
“I love working with Sale Chamber Orchestra. They provide me with great entertainment in rehearsals with a variety of good-humoured banter, excellent tea-making skills and some fine music-making. The orchestra strives to be an evolving group, developing skills in performing new music as well as mastering the wealth of standard repertoire available to us. Sale Chamber Orchestra is fundamentally a string orchestra although, over the years, it has invited guest wind and brass players for specific concerts, to enable us to experience an even wider choice of repertoire. I am confident in stating that the standard of playing and performance has improved and continues to improve as we tackle music from all ages, with great enthusiasm.”
